HANNAH WELLING
ST. LOUIS — Hannah Marie Welling became an angel at 9:55 p.m. on Friday August 11, 2017 at St. Louis University Hospital due to complications with Leukemia.
She was born August 6, 1998 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Benjamin Welling and Brenda Sowders and Joe and Tina (Chambers) Sabin, all of Alton, Illinois.
She graduated from Alton High School in 2016 and was employed at Something Else Salon in Alton for many years. She was currently attending Culver Stockton College in Canton, MO where she was studying psychology. She loved to sing, act, and was involved in many choral and theatre productions in both high school and college. She was a member of Power of Peers, Health Occupations Students of America, and was very proud to be a sister in the Sigma Kappa Sorority.
Hannah loved to be with her family and friends. She made new friends wherever she went with her amazing smile and caring personality. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her boyfriend Brett Colton, three brothers, Ryan and her twin Derick Welling of Alton and Elijah Norris of Bethalto, one sister Izzabella Sabin of Bethalto, and a niece Violet Welling of Alton. Her grandparents Elmer and Barbara Welling of Alton, Richard and Sharon Chambers of Godfrey, and Sue Walton of Alton, and a great grandmother Fran Herrin of Wood River. Many aunts and uncles Andrew and Christopher Welling of Alton, Patricia West of Alton, Michele (Deana) Chambers of Wood River, Christie (Brian) Buck and Richard (Mylene) Chambers all of Godfrey, and 7 cousins as well as a large extended family and group of friends. She also leaves behind her beloved 1995 Chevy Monte Carlo that she lovingly called, "The Beast!"
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday August 15, 2017 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home, 2521 Edward Street, Alton Illinois.
Second visitation will be held from 9 until time of service at 11 a.m., Wednesday August 16, 2017 at Messiah Lutheran, 920 Milton Road, Alton Illinois, with Pastor Randy Fischer officiating
Burial will follow at Fosterburg Cemetery in Fosterburg.
Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church of Alton, or The American Cancer Society.
