JOEL WOMACK
SCOTLAND NECK, NORTH CAROLINA — Joel Quenton Womack, 42, formerly of Grafton, Illinois, passed away on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at his home in Scotland Neck after a courageous battle with cancer.
Joel was born on May 14, 1975, in Alton, Illinois, to David Michael Womack, Sr. and Kara Lynn Diane Duff Womack. A loving husband, father, son, and brother, he was dedicated to his family above all else. He worked for many years in Logistics for the Transportation industry. He enjoyed working on computers, woodworking, and spending time with his wife and children. One of his favorite past times was house renovations, working alongside his oldest daughter, Meagan.
Joel was preceded in death by his nephew, Brian Matthew Womack; and his uncle, David Guy Waggoner.
Joel is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Renee Womack; his children, Timothy Quenton Womack, Meagan Renee Womack, Jason Andrew Womack, Justin Edward Womack, Hannah Natalie Womack, Michael Kent Womack, and Illianna Caroline Womack; his parents, David and Kara Womack of Grafton, Illinois; his brothers, David Michael Womack, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Grafton, Steven Daniel Womack and wife Holly of Lawndale, and Christopher Matthew Womack and wife Becky of Griffin, Georgia; his father and mother-in-law, Kent and Jean Elhoffer of Hobgood; and his sisters-in-law, Sarah Jean Elhoffer of St. Louis, Missouri, and Diane Marie Elhoffer of Cocoa, Florida.
The family received friends Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018 at Letchworth-Sykes Funeral Service in Scotland Neck.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018 at Alexander and Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville, Illinois.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018 at Grafton Baptist Church in Grafton, Illinois. Pastor William Hendricks will officiate. Burial will be at Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton, Illinois.
