Timothy Holt Obituary

Timothy Michael Holt
Cedar Rapids - Timothy Michael Holt, 55, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Alton, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2021.
Tim was born on October 21, 1966, in Alton, to Eugene and Carolyn (Klaus) Holt, along with his twin, Tad. Tim and Tad attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Marquette Catholic High School ('84,) and played baseball and football throughout their youth and high school. They were each other's best friend and remained inseparable throughout life -- often taking jobs that separated them, only to come back together in a new city or to work for the same company, eventually.
Tim loved airplanes and spent most of his career in the aeronautics industry. Playing golf became a favorite hobby, and he always loved working on cars. He was an Army veteran having served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
In addition to his parents, Tim is survived by many who loved him including his fiancé, Rose Bismanos of Davao City, Philippines; daughter Brittanee and her family - Matt, Zoey, and Luci Hokenson of Bunker Hill, Illinois; daughter Carolyn Engler of Germany; brother, Tad, and his family - Amy, Amber, Hannah, and Harrison Holt of Cedar Rapids; sisters Tammy (Philip) Creighton and Terri (David) Hufker, both of Shawnee, Kansas; many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces; and last but not least, his beloved dog, Bella.
Tim will be cremated, and interred at a later date in 2022 when all can gather to celebrate his life.
Memorials may be made to Marquette Catholic High School or 5A's Animal Shelter, both in Alton, in memory of Tim.

I had the pleasure of working with and getting to know Tim at Kwik Star. Everyone who met him loved him for kind heart and big smile. He would always grab a chicken sandwich for Bella on his way home. Even when times were rough for Tim, he kept a positive attitude and hoped for the best. He often spoke of Rose and how he was looking forward to bringing her here. He loved her so much! His friendship will be greatly missed by all .

I knew Tim through Kwik Star-he trained me in the kitchen at the Marion store and we missed him so much when he left! He always had a smile on his face (and the mask in front of it!) and I loved visiting his store to peek in the kitchen to see if he was in there. He was the nicest guy that I feel blessed to have known. I am sending prayers for peace during this difficult time.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Tim's passing. I worked with Tim at Collins when he was in the Cert Center. His humor, wit and enthusiasm made him an absolute joy to be around and work with. He was a good friend, as well. Whatever struggles he may have had, he made sure that you were okay. I'm going to miss him immensely.

Mr. and Mrs. Holt and Tad, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I lived on Henderson St. and knew and played with Tim and Tad when we were kids. All of you were always kind to me. God Bless.

So sorry for your loss. I lived on Henderson St. when all of you lived on Hardy St. I used to play with Tim and Tad back then. I've always remembered how kind all of your family was to me. God Bless.
