Ellen Sylvester Obituary

Ellen Ann Sylvester of Scranton died Monday morning at Hospice of the Sacred Heart after a brief illness.

Born in Scranton on June 14, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Karl A. and Joan A. Robinson Sylvester.

Cissy, as she was called, is remembered as a special person and was loved dearly. She taught us the real meaning of family, love and understanding. Regardless of her limitations she was always a pivotal member of the Sylvester family.

Surviving is stepmother, Annmarie Toole Sylvester; brother, Karl Sylvester, MD, of Menlo Park, California; and three sisters, Joanne (Sylvester) Hirschler of Clarks Summit; Carol Sylvester of Jermyn; and Holly (Sylvester) James of Jermyn; and many nieces and nephews.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of St. Gregory, 330 North Abington Road, Clarks Green. Interment at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to St. Joseph's Center, 2010 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509.

Arrangements: Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore..
