Emmett Wilkinson, 82, passed away early Friday morning, Sept. 10, 2021, in Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, N.Y.
A memorial service will be held at the First Universalist Church of Brooklyn, Brooklyn, Pa., on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Peck Cemetery, Harford, Pa.
The family requests memorial contributions be directed to either the First Universalist Church, 6925 Maple St., Kingsley, PA 18826; or Harford-Warren Lodge #445, P.O. Box 445, Hop Bottom, PA 18824.
Emmett was born on April 1, 1939, in Bristol, Pa., the son of the late Adeline (Demming) Potter and Frank Wilkinson. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961, earning the rank of corporal. He was the owner/operator of EJW Corp. Drilling and Blasting in Kingsley, Pa., until his retirement in March 2003.
Emmett was a 39-year member of the Harford-Warren Lodge #445, Hop Bottom, Pa. He served as Worshipful Master in 1987 and 1998. He was a member of the Keystone Consistory, 32nd degree, in the Valley of Scranton, Pa., and the Irem Temple Shrine in Dallas, Pa. Emmett was involved in many of the organizations' fundraiser events. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Emmett is survived by his loving and supportive wife, Jean (Rowe), whom he married on Oct. 7, 1961; his daughters, Denise (Chris) Morin and Debora Wilkinson; a grandson, Zachary Tucker; a brother, Elwood (Martha) Smith; a sister-in-law, Pat Wilkinson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Emmett was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and Walter.
