Joseph Grande Obituary
Born in Scranton, son of the late James T. and Mary C. Broadhurst Grande, he was a graduate of Dunmore High School and served in the Army during World War II. Before retirement, he was employed as a plant manager at the Grove Textile Co., Dunmore. He was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore, and its Holy Name Society and served as its custodian for more than 30 years. For more than 25 years, he volunteered as a team member with the Charismatic Renewal Conference, which is held each August at the University of Scranton. Joe served as a Lay Carmelite and a Eucharistic Minister for many years at both SS. Anthony and Rocco's and at Mercy Hospital.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an avid gardener who was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Also surviving are a daughter, Carol Ann Grande, Dunmore; a son, Joseph P. Grande and wife, Lois, Newark, Del.; a grandson, Dr. Todd Lawrence Grande and wife, Amy, Newark, Del.; three great-grandsons, Jacob Alexander, Luke Alan and Samuel Todd Grande; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, James and Leo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
Friends may call Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.
