Joseph Michael Kieselowsky, 66, of Moscow, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, Pa.
Born in Scranton, at the same hospital, he was the son of the late Joseph William and Barbara Jean (Hebert) Kieselowsky. Joe graduated from Sayreville War Memorial High School class of 1976 and before he retired, was a property manager for Atlantic Realty Development Corp.
Joe lived life, and was often the life of the party with his storytelling and natural ability to make others laugh. He was always there for you. Joe loved to grill anything, and then enjoy a great blueberry pie from Ritter's Cider Mill. He enjoyed restoring '67 Chevy Camaros early on, watching racing of any kind, boating with friends, bonfires, helping out in the fields at the family farm, relaxing on the beach, catching a sunset, listening to country music on Froggy 101, motorcycle riding, target shooting and a great sunny beach vacation. So many family members and friends share wonderful memories with "Shmoe," or "Jersey Joe." He will be deeply missed.
The family extends deepest appreciation to Dr. Charles M. Stivala, Dr. Henry Yeager, Dr. Yassir Nawaz, Geisinger's entire cardiology and nephrology team, our extraordinary RNCM, Ruth Collins, and the entire Geisinger staff for taking such diligent care of Joe throughout his lengthy illness. Your compassion, state of the art technology and talent enabled him to courageously fight his illness and enjoy life with us much longer. Gracious thanks also to our "Uncle Bob" Robert Kieselowsky, who came to his rescue many times, his dedicated home care giver, Anna Kieselowsky, honorable care and assistance by the late "Wally" Walter Kieselowsky and son Adam Kieselowsky, and the many therapists and assistants who helped Joe along his journey during the most difficult times.
Joe is survived by his loving sister, Deborah Kieselowsky and her fiancé, Mario Lamola of Manchester, N.J.; his loving brothers, Richard Kieselowsky and his fiancée, Tetiana Havrylova Nikolaevna of Andover Twp., N.J.; and Steven Kieselowsky and his wife Karen of Sayreville, N.J., along with his nieces, Nikita Kieselowsky; Natasha Orzel and her husband Andrew; Garrison Kieselowsky; and nephew, Quinn Kieselowsky; and stepmother, Anna Kieselowsky; in addition to aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and friends near and far.
A blessing service will be held on Friday, June 28 at 10 a.m. at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services LLC, 3 First St., Spring Brook Twp., PA 18444 to be celebrated by Rev. Thomas M. Muldowney. Interment with Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery in Moscow. Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 27 from 4 to 8 p.m., also at the funeral home.
