Peter Senio, 101, died Sunday at the Gardens of Green Ridge in Scranton.
He was born in Mayfield to Paul and Anna Kiehart Senio. He had three brothers, Walter, Nicholas and Basil, all deceased, and is survived by a sister Olga Caselli, Sarasota, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Peter graduated from Mayfield High School in 1941, enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1942 and served honorably until discharge in 1946. He attended the University of Scranton on the GI Bill and graduated in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He married Helen Kantor in 1948, who preceded him in death.
They had one son, Allan, who also preceded him in death. The family moved Schenectedy, N.Y., where he became employed by GE at the Knells Atomic Power Laboratory. While employed, he attended evening classes at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and graduated with a master's degree in the science of metallurgy. In 1957 he was employed by the Westinghouse Electric Company, Bettsi Atomic in Pittsburgh Power Laboratory. Before retirement in 1985, he was a physicist.
He and his wife moved in 2008 to Jermyn and lived there for 10 years before moving to the Gardens of Green Ridge in Scranton.
Peter lived a true Christian life and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday with services at 10 a.m. from St. Michael's Orthodox Church, Jermyn, with Rev. John Black officiating. Interment, St. Michael's Orthodox Cemetery.
Friends may visit at the church from 9 to 10 a.m. Arrangements, Battenberg Funeral Home, Jermyn.
