Carl Allred Obituary


BURLINGTON, N.C. - Carl Joseph Allred, age 64, of 4804 Bellemont-Mt. Hermon Road, Lot 45, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2010. He was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late Vernie Walter and Bessie Nichols Allred.
Carl was employed with Burlington Industries for over 20 years. He was a member of Guiding Light Baptist Church in Elon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War and a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion Post # 63. Carl was a loving and devoted father and grandfather.
Survivors include his daughter, Betsy Allred of Efland; and a stepson, Lyn Inge of Efland; grandsons, Christopher Morrison and Clayton Morrison both of Efland; niece Celia Jane Allen of Graham; and nephews, Alan Allred of Burlington and Gary Allred of Graham.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Walter Allred.
The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Max Rich and burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 until 11 a.m. prior to the service and at other times at the residence, Rusette Forest Mobile Home Park, 4804 Bellemont-Mt. Hermon Road, Lot 45.
