Michael Carpenter Obituary
Carpenter, age 74, of East-
anollee, Ga., passed away
Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024 at
his home.
Born Dec. 18, 1949 in
Toccoa, he was the son of
the late Frank Arlington
and Mary Nell Phillips
Carpenter.
Mr. Carpenter was a
builder and owner of MA
Carpenter Construction
Company. He was a gradu-
ate of Stephens County
High School and Young
Harris College, and he at-
tended Georgia State Uni-
versity. At Young Harris
College, he was a student
senate member, a member
of the SPAT Club, and a
dorm assistant. He served
as a deacon at Glover Bap-
tist Church in Norcross,
Ga., and at Ebenezer Bap-
tist Church in Toccoa. He
was also a Sunday School
superintendent at Ebenez-
er Baptist Church.
Family members in-
clude his wife, Wanda
Grafton Carpenter; sons,
Scott Carpenter, Corey
Carpenter (Kim), and
Joshua Carpenter (Amy);
grandchildren, Emmitt
Carpenter, Kenny Clark,
Caroline Carpenter, Cole
Carpenter, Cason Carpen-
ter, Anna Kate Carpenter,
Finn Carpenter and Henry
Carpenter; great-grand-
daughter, Emma Carpen-
ter; sisters, Kathy Turpin
(Dan) and Carol Eakins
(Randy); brother, Phillip
Carpenter (Russell Gross);
brother-in-law, Greg
Grafton (Deloris); sister-
in-law, Sheba Grafton; and
numerous nieces and
nephews.
The family received
friends at the mortuary
from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday,
Feb. 15, 2024.
Funeral services were
held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb.
16, 2024 at Ebenezer Bap-
tist Church with Dr. Fred
Lodge, the Rev. Andy
Childs, and Dr. Jamie
Smith officiating.
Burial followed at
Stephens Memorial Gar-
dens.
The following gentle-
men served as pallbearers:
Emmitt Carpenter, Kenny
Clark, Matt Turpin, Zach
Grafton, Clay Moore, Scott
Carpenter, Corey Carpen-
ter and Josh Carpenter.
Honorary pallbearers
were Cole Carpenter, Ca-
son Carpenter, Finn Car-
penter, Henry Carpenter,
John Anderson and the
Grace Duvall Seekers
Small Group Class.
In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may
be made to Missions Min-
istries at Ebenezer Baptist
Church, 49 Rose Lane, Toc-
coa, Georgia 30577.
