After a brave and defiant fight with illness, Nova Erwin peacefully passed away at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, Louisiana on September 27, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services for Nova Dean Erwin will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 in the Rush Chapel, Pineville with the Reverend Dennis Snoddy. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, La. under the direction of Rush Funeral Home.

Her interests included spending time with her family and friends. Her home was her sanctuary, always warm, open and inviting. She was an avid LSU sports fan and for over 50+ years, she was actively involved with her children and grandchildren's school events and all sporting programs.

Over the years, Nova worked as a Bus Driver for the Rapides Parish System and also as a Personal Care Attendant for a Health Services Agency. However, without question, her greatest achievement was that of a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and trusted friend. She will be missed by those who were touched by her candor, honesty and her tremendous, generous spirit.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter (Bud) Elwood Erwin, and parents, Ame Rheinhardt and Ferol Hohimer.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Wayne Erwin and Shane Erwin, both of Pineville; daughters, Vickie Hart and Connie Gowen (Leon) both of Pineville; grandchildren, Brendon Dubroc, Dustin Johnson, April Johnson, Austin Erwin and Laiken Erwin; great grandchildren, Hannah Dubroc, Hunter Dubroc and Gage Dubroc.

Pallbearers will be Brian Brunson, Mark Milliner, Bryan Sampson, Chris Pearce and Tom Spencer.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m.
