Sandra Ponthieux Obituary
Funeral services for Sandra "Sandi" Lynn Ponthieux will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Minor Baslica of the Immaculate Conception in Natchitoches, LA with Father Ryan Humphries officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on November 2, 2013 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. A recitation of the rosary will be held at 7:30 pm during the visitation.
Ms. Ponthieux, 50 years of age, died suddenly October 30, 2013 in a single vehicle accident. She was born December 22, 1962 in Shreveport, LA.
She is preceded in death by her mother, DeLora Scott Ponthieux; and her grandparents, Ellis and Rose Ponthieux.
Ms. Ponthieux is a graduate of Natchitoches Central High School and was a licensed florist all of her adult life. She was the owner of Floral de Lights in Natchitoches, LA. She loved to hunt and fish and never missed an opportunity to deer hunt.
She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Nealy and Eric Sharbino of Natchitoches, LA; her father and step-mother, Ray and Gewn Ponthieux of Natchitoches, LA; her two sisters, Rebecca Ponthieux McFarland and husband Wayne of Florence, MS and Nicole Ponthieux of Leesville, LA; one nephew; three nieces; and one great nephew.
Members of the Knights of Columbus will serve as pallbearers.
If desired, and in lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice may be made.

Did she live on Ellis Hill in Philomath, Oregon in the early 70s? I was reminiscing about my old friends Becky & Sandi Ponthieux from way back in the day. I was Sandi's age (born in '62) and my brother Glynn Sanders was in Becky's class, I think. If I've found my old friend Sandi, may she rest in peace. I remember the good times.

Aunt sandi I'm missing u more than u would ever know, I love u dearly!! U always comfort me and knew how to make a person smile, I love u and miss u more and more every day! I just learned of Sandy's passing today and am so sorry to hear this. Sandy and I worked together many years ago at Winn Dixie. She was a good friend and a sweet girl. I moved away and haven't seen her for some time but still thought about her. God bless the family. I know she will be missed.
