Larry Spencer Wolfe, born August 18, 1942, in Charleston, West Virginia, passed away on May 30, 2025. A proud 1960 graduate of Leon High School, he earned his Bachelor's Degree from Florida State University in 1964, and went on to earn a Master's of Accountancy as well from FSU, while also travelling extensively internationally. After earning his certified public accountant designation, he opened his own accounting firm, Larry S. Wolfe, CPA, later partnering with Devlin Saley to form Wolfe and Saley, CPA., where he loved chatting with and preparing his client's taxes while creating a one-of-a-kind, patent-pending, filing system on his desk.
He was a devoted Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #937 member, serving as Exalted Ruler and lifelong active member. Larry was also member of the Tallahassee Quarterback Club as well as the 100 Club and was a Deacon at East Hill Baptist Church. His free time was spent at Mysterious Waters, where you could find him captaining the pontoon boat up the Wakulla River in search of his adopted Manatee family or at an FSU football game.
Larry is survived by his brother, David Wolfe (Susan Wolfe); sons, Larry Spencer Wolfe Jr. (Angela Wolfe) and Spencer Dewitt Wolfe (Kristi Wolfe); daughter, Randy Wolfe Hopkins (James Hopkins); granddaughters, Madeline Wolfe (fiancé Kaia LoPreste) and Sadie Wolfe; and grandsons, James Hopkins, Jonathan Hopkins, and Spencer Wolfe II. He was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Ruby Wolfe, and wife, Sheila Pittman Wolfe. A celebration of Larry's life will be held at East Hill Baptist Church (912 Miccosukee Road, Tallahassee, FL 32308) on June 5 at 2 pm with reception to follow at the Tallahassee Elks Lodge (276 Magnolia Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32301). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice (1723 Mahan Center Boulevard, Tallahassee, FL 32308) or East Hill Baptist Church. Rocky Bevis and Breanna Green of Bevis Funeral Home (850-385-2193 or www.bevisfh.com) are assisting the Wolfe family with their arrangements.
