Andrew Haggerty Obituary

Andrew M. "Buzz" Haggerty, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away at The Westerly Hospital with his family by his side on Monday, March 5, 2018. He was 73.
A lifelong resident of Westerly, Buzz was custodian of the Westerly School Dept. for more than 30 years, retiring in 2002. Buzz served in the US Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was also a life member of the Dunns Corners Fire Dept. where he had served as a 1st Deputy Chief and in several other capacities. He was a past president of the R.I. Assoc. of Fire Chiefs and a life member of RIMS.
He leaves his loving wife of 45 years, Deborah Jean (Leonetti) Haggerty of Westerly; his three daughters, Brona Haggerty, Carolyn Kelley and Andi Kenyon and her husband Keith, all also of Westerly. In addition, Buzz is survived by three siblings, Thomas Haggerty of Westerly, James Haggerty of Bradford and Marjorie Rose of N. Stonington; four grandchildren, Savannah and Xavier Kelley and Brody and Karlin Kenyon; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m., at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a Funeral Service with Full Military Honors on Saturday at 10 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
