Anna Servido Obituary

MYSTIC - Anna Faith Servidio born on April 12, 2004, joined the Lord in Heaven on Sunday, August 17; the daughter of Jane Carriera Servidio and Stephen Patrick Servidio of Mystic, CT. Anna was a cheerful, intelligent girl who could name all the U.S. presidents when she was in first grade. Always eager to find new experiences and challenges, Anna completed her elementary and middle school years at North Stonington Elementary School and Wheeler Middle School. Following this, she entered Fitch High School in Groton where she co-captained the girls tennis team and was a co-captain for the field hockey team the year that Fitch won the EEC tournament. She also joined the Aluminum Falcons, developed a love of fabrication, and her robotics team qualified for the world tournament in Houston in her senior year.

Her bubbly personality lifted the spirits of all who knew her, and she dedicated her life to showing up for her friends. Anna's drive for learning brought her to the Honors College at the University of Delaware in 2022. She sat herself right in the front row of the 4,000 freshmen gathered on the green for the traditional candlelight welcome ceremony and got a selfie with the university's president. Thats who she was. Anna enjoyed academics and pursued many of the seemingly countless opportunities the University offered.

She went to the west for a one week camping trip in January of 2023 with the Student Traveling Club not knowing a soul, but eager to see five national parks. This instilled in her the dream to see all the national parks in our country. Anna sailed for the UD Club Sailing Team, having a lifelong love of sailing, beginning as a child at the Groton Long Point Yacht Club and then later as an instructor. Anna was a member of the Students for the Environment Club as well as Epsilon Eta, an academic fraternity. Her dedication to environmental conservation was evident in every facet of her life.

Anna is survived by her father, Steve, her mother, Jane, and her sister, Sarah. She is also survived by her grandparents, Karen and Jerry Carriera of Groton Long Point, and her boyfriend, John Fulkerson of McLean, VA. She is also survived by her aunts, uncles, and cousins: Kate and Tom Johnson of Groton Long Point, Liz and Jason Leigh of Barrington, RI, Gina and Glenn Callaghan of Sarasota, FL, James Servidio of Westerly, Peter and Sue Servidio of Seekonk, MA., Chris and Lisa Servidio of Westerly, Roberta Servidio of Westerly; Cousins Patrick Callaghan, Cara Piccolo, Leslie Scheck, Jamie Servidio, Emma Johnson, Evelyn Johnson, Christian, Emmett and Siobhan Leigh.

There are also friends too many to name.

Anna's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday August 22nd from 4-7 pm at the Mystic Funeral Home located on Route 1 in Mystic, CT. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 23rd at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Church 32 East Main St. Mystic. Her burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna's memory can be made to: Sean's House, 136 W. Main St, Newark, DE 19711.
