Elizabeth Durnan Obituary
Elizabeth Betsy (Russo) Durnan, of Charlestown, RI, passed away at Westerly Hospital on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the age of 72. She was the wife of the late William C. Durnan.
Born in Waterbury, CT, she was the daughter of the late Niel and Mary Russo.
Betsy was a graduate of the University of Chicago and the University of Rhode Island. She was a renaissance woman who worked in finance, as a pharmacist, and for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island for many years.
She is survived by her son Neil J. Durnan and wife Ovgu, and daughter Elizabeth O. Durnan; her brother Paul Russo and wife Maryalice; and two nephews, David and Eric Russo.
A private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in charge of the arrangements.
