Marilyn Reeder Obituary

Reeder Marilyn Ann Reeder, 84, of London, died December 3, 2014 at her residence surrounded by family. Born October 22, 1930 in Franklin County, she was the daughter of Myers Wolford and Edna (Robinson) Jones. A graduate of 1948 London High School, she attended Ohio Wesleyan College where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of London and the Beta Kappa chapter of E.S.A Sorority. She was employed at the London Prison Farm. She worked for Madison County Auditor from 1967 to 1978 and for the Madison County Dept. of Human Services from 1978 to 1991. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter # 386. An insulin dependent diabetic since September 7, 1946, she served as president of the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, Madison County Chapter. In recognition of her devoted efforts with the Central Ohio Diabetes Assn, she was presented plaques for the 1997 Chapter Achievement Award (received May 14, 1998); in recognition for 24 years of service to the Madison County Central Ohio Diabetes Chapter received (February 26, 2002); and the 2001 Lifetime Achievement Award (received May 14, 2002. She also received a Fifty Year Medal from the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, MA on March 31, 1998 and the Fifty Year Medal from Eli Lilly and Co. in Indianapolis, IN. Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Natalie Ann (Donald) Wehrs of South Vienna; grandsons, Tony (Christin) Harris, Nathan (Becky) Harris, Tyler (Michelle) Harris, Daniel (Jenny) Wehrs; and eight great grandchildren and her beloved cat, Milo. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Reeder in October 1967, daughter Connie Kay Reeder, June 1962, brother Richard M. Jones, September , 1999, father Myers W. Jones, September 1962 and her mother Edna Jones May, 2000. Funeral service will be held at EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY 103 N. Main St. London, Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Kirkwood Cemetery, London. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Loving Care Hospice of London or to the Diabetes Association, 1580 King Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43212.
