My husband and I just found out last week that John and Phyllis passed away. We've been living up in Springfield, Oregon and we just hadn't heard until Phillip Ammon told us. We're so sorry to have missed the services for both of them. Phyllis was my father-in-law's (Lincoln Martin) first cousin. They were good people, and I know you're going to miss them. I wish we could have shown our respect to both of them. I'm not surprised they didn't survive each other very long. I don't think I ever saw John without Phyllis. We send our condolences and love. Phyllis and the Jurin family~

Speaking as one of the caregivers for John, we caregivers, from Agape Home Care, counted it a privilege to care for John, and to just know the Jurin family. They make us feel like part of the family.

His voice was very distinctive. I am a talker (people person) but I think John had me beat in that department. He shared many stories with us and we miss him sorely. Miss his presence and voice in the house.

John, having a hearing deficit, had a hard time hearing what many people would say to him. I could tell whether he understood them or not and would interject for him so he could understand what they were saying. He said for some reason my tone of voice was more easily heard to him than many- especially helpful when I would accompany him to a doctor's visit. He was very thankful for this. He was always ready to express his appreciation for our care.

We miss him very much.
Please accept our sincere condolences,

Donna Bellairs and the Agape Home Care, "Jurin team"

I did not know John long, or well. However, our brief acquaintance was enough for me to learn that John was one of those men, who are becoming scarce in these times. I watched him work hard, shoulder to shoulder with much younger men. He took the time to explain things to me, when I had no reason to expect such courtesy. He found a way to allow me to be useful, rather than awkward, and I was so grateful to him for that. I was able to clearly see John's dedication to his wonderful wife, and his children and grandchildren. I imagine that a lifetime of hard work allowed him to leave them without fear for their futures. John made me wish I had known him and his family longer. Yet, I am richer for our brief acquaintance. John had big, calloused hands. But, I believe he had a soft heart. I will miss him.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the Jurin Family. We have fond memories of when John, Phyllis and Martin would join us at the 4th of July parades in Weaverville. -- the Rybergs.

Phllis & Your Family,
Our sympathies to you and your family!
Was sorry to hear about John's Passing.
Your family were long time friends of my parents Harold & Rose Preston.
They were pleased that when the Jurin Family purchased the Preston Ranch in 1962.
My Grandfather bought the ranch in 1917 the year my dad was born.
That was a big decision to sell the ranch a move to Eastern Washington to start a new Irrigated farm/ranch.
We sold a quite a few Shorthorn bulls to the Jurin Family over several years.
Was nice to see you off and over the years!
We wish your the family the best always!
