James Hedding Obituary
He was born April 22, 1969, in Berlin, the son of Michael and Sandra (French) Hedding.
He had attended school in Roxbury and was a 1987 graduate of Northfield High School.
On Sept. 6, 1998, he married Karen Cargill in Barre. The couple had lived in Roxbury ever since.
James had worked in the granite industry all his life and had been employed by North Barre Granite and P & G Sandblasting. He had also been a longtime member of the Roxbury Fire Department.
His special interests included cars, motorcycles, four-wheelers, drawing and renewable energy.
Besides his wife, Karen, survivors include his parents, Michael Hedding and his wife, Sandra, of Roxbury; and three brothers: Michael French and his wife, Donna, of Roxbury, Brian Hedding, of Roxbury, and Daniel Hedding and his wife, Suzanne, of Williamstown; and several aunts and uncles, and nephews, nieces and cousins.
According to his wishes, James will be cremated, with burial to take place in the spring in the Roxbury Cemetery.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
There will be a reception following the service on Wednesday at the Roxbury Fire Department.
Contributions in his memory may be made to Special Olympics Vermont, 16 Gregory Drive, Suite 2, South Burlington, VT 05403.
The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, is in charge of the arrangements.

Although Sandy was my first cousin, most being older then me and their children like Jamie of my age group. The few times I met him I sensed his heart like mine was genuine. Know this family no matter the number of years since he left this earth and descended to heaven he along with the the others and our amazing heavenly Father has continued to be shine down their grace, especially on those being done wrong in acknowledgement they see all. Look for the signs they send and rejoice in their light

I'm saddened to hear about the loss of Jamie. I find myself remembering all those times on Teresa's porch, laughing, joking. I remember the smile he always use to put on everyone's face especially yours. I always remember thinking if any 2 people were made for each other it was you two. So sorry to hear of this Jamie use to remind me all the time when I would see him he was older than I was I always reminded him only by 3 days, it was always a joke with us growing up and right up until the last time I saw him. He was always so good natured he will be greatly missed by all that knew him! My heart goes out to all of the family and even though I didn't know Karen that well my heart is with you also!

Wow, are you sure we all are not in a bad dream and just not waking up??
Man, Jamie was in the prime of his life - he was enjoying life to its fullest. He was lucky as well, he had found what some of us are still out there looking for. He had found that special someone to spend the rest of his life with. My heart is overcome with sorrow & felling of loss of a great friend, and person.
I am so sad that his life was cut so short here with us. But I know he is up there looking down on all of us & especially over his family.
He would want us to remember him during all the good & sometimes crazy times we have had with him & all the bad as well.

Jamie, over and over I back space the words I type. This has to be a nightmare I just can't seem to wake up from. How could this be, I was just with you and Karen last week. Our granddaughter, Carmeta Covey, is married to Jamie's uncle, Walter French. I didn't know Jamie but if he was anything like his uncle Walter, he was certainly worth knowing. Too bad to lose such a great guy so young.
