Sally Littell Patterson

Sally Littell Patterson died July 21, 2012 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 78 years old. She was born March 20, 1934 in Franklin, New Jersey to Alfred B. and Dorothy (Kirshner) Littell. Sally grew up in New Jersey and attended Kents Hill Prep School in Kents Hill, Maine. She earned BA and Master's degrees from Fairleigh Dickerson University, Teaneck, NJ. On April 4, 1959 she married Roger Howell Patterson. They made their home in Sparta, NJ until moving to Colorado in 1975 and to Longmont in 1976. Sally worked in the Empire State building, Chicago and Dallas before beginning a career as a social worker in New Jersey. From the late 1970's to mid-1990's she worked at Hover Community. First as food service manager at Hover Manor, and then, always up for a challenge, she took on the development, building and being the first administrator at Beatrice Hover Assisted Living. She purchased Chelsea and Bradford Real Estate beginning a long career as a realtor. After selling the business she continued working at the company (PMP Realty) up to her death. Sally is remembered as a loving and giving person, who always went out of her way to help those less fortunate, giving them a second chance at a better life, always positive and looking forward. She was an active member of the Friends of the Longmont Library and also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels. She loved to fish, visit Buena Vista and be in the mountains. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger on Aug. 16, 1989, her parents and a brother Richard Littell. Sally is survived by two sons Andy Patterson (Gina) of Longmont and David Patterson (Jackie) of Wasilla, Alaska, one daughter Arlene Patterson of Longmont, three grandchildren Roger, Bronco and Heather, one sister Nancy and two brothers Phil and Robert. Memorial services will be held at 2PM, Friday Aug. 10, 2012 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ (1500 9th Ave., Longmont). Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
