Adelaide Grier Folensbee

Adelaide Grier Folensbee, 75, of Berryville, Va., died Monday, October 7, 2002 at Winchester Medical Center. The daughter of Joseph Lee and Ruth Morrison Grier, she was born in Staunton, Va. She graduated from Erskine College, Due West, S.C., with a Bachelor’s degree in science; from Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, N.J., with a Masters of Divinity; from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Fla., with a Masters in Education; and from Presbyterian School of Christian Education, Richmond, Va., with a Doctorate in Education. She served as acting director for the Richmond Peace Education Center in Richmond, Va. and served on the board of the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy, and as elder at Ginter Park Presbyterian Church, Richmond, Va., where she lived for many years. She was currently serving as elder at Berryville Presbyterian Church and was active in the community. She is survived by two brothers, Calvin Knox Grier of New Orleans, La., and Joseph Lee Grier Jr. of Naperville, Ill.; three children, Rowland Wickes Folensbee Jr. of Houston, Texas, Barbara Folensbee-Moore of Silver Spring, Md., and Susan Ellen Skinner of Berryville, Va.; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2002 at the Berryville Presbyterian Church in Berryville with Rev. Jonathan W. Bunker officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville. Memorials may be sent to the Richmond Peace Education Center, 14 N. Laurel St., Richmond, Va. 23220 or to Berryville Presbyterian Church, P.O.
