Alice Shonk Obituary

Alice Ruth Shonk, age 52, of Hamilton, Ohio, died on Saturday, February 8, 2003, at the Jewish Hospital Kenwood. Born on February 26, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of Grace (Thorpe) Brown. On September 26, 1969, in Maryland, Alice married Donald Richard Shonk. Mrs. Shonk is survived by her husband of over 33 years, Donald; her mother, Grace Brown of Jacksonville, N.C.; two daughters and one son, Christine Shonk, of Hamilton, Ohio, Edward Shonk and his wife, Dawn of Triumph, Ill., and Jennifer Shonk of Hamilton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Heidi Shonk and Shayn Donahue; sister, Grace Dennis of Jacksonville, N.C.; uncle, Richard Brown of Runnemede, N.J.; and nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by one brother. Cremation will take place with services held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions in Alice’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 5378-A Cox Smith Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.
