I had the unique pleasure of playing football with Barry in high school. He was a clutch receiver on & off the field, catching passes & being friends with quite a few 100 folks it seemed. We lost touch after high school but I kept up with him through reports from his Mom, Dottie. It seems we've seen her more than a couple of times a week over the past 6 years as my kids have gone through Mehfoud. Zack(10) & Zoe(7) & I value Dottie beyond words. She is a bright shining light.

Barry continues to shine, standing next to the Lord. For Barry's family, his Mom, wife and children, shine with him from here on Earth and with others that have known & cherished him and we'll blind everyone with our faith.

gabi,

i am sincerely sorry about your loss, and i know how it feels to lose someone close to you. i can't say that i know exactly what you're going through, but i can say that many people are willing to help out in any way they can and so many people care for you and your family. i know these times are rough but you just have to be strong and pull through. your father is in a better place now and will be watching over you, your mom, and bri. i know we dont really talk that much as much as we used to but if you ever need anything i'll always be here for you. your family is in my prayers and thoughts and i hope for the best for all of you.

It is with extreme sadness that I wish to express ... I am sorry for your loss. I taught and coached Barry at Varina HS and have vivid positive memories of him and his sweet sister, Marsha . Barry was a receiver for us and quickly earned the reputation that he would catch any football he could touch . The coaches soon shortened his last name to just "Fish"... not knowing that fishing would be one of his passions . I was a young coach back then and thought that players/students like Barry would be a common occurance . I was wrong . He was one of those special kids that didn't come along often enough. You remember them with fondness long after graduation ....Barry loved being outdoors in PE class and like many other boys couldn't wait for the Health classroom work to be completed....If it was up to him we would have played outside in the rain . I have experienced the recent loss of a son . It is from this that I say to you that I will include you in my daily prayers asking that God will reveal to you something that will help bring you peace....

To his wife and daughters I pray that you each will find your way to pull from the memory of Barry's love for you during your grief......To Marsha... I was fortunate to have had you in class and pray that over time your grief can be pushed into the background and replaced with treasured memories.
