Brian Patrick Tuskey
February 1, 1978 - February 7, 2026
Brian Patrick Tuskey loved his family, his friends, and youth sports. He showed his love by being a consistent presence in the lives of others. Brian passed away February 7, 2026 at the age of 48 from complications of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.
Brian was a dedicated father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. To his children, Brandon and Mollie, Brian was both the fun parent and the constant presence who walked them to school and coached their sports teams. He was mischievous, a master of good-natured ribbing, and he loved being in on the jokes. When he was really tickled, he had a full-body, convulsing silent laugh that could infect everyone else in the room. He shared his joy with everyone he met. For many he was the friendly, easygoing guy spreading smiles.
Brian never did anything halfway. If he decided to do something - designing a home renovation, collecting pens, serving on the vestry of his church, or watching the long-running TV show Survivor - he was all in. He was a lifelong participant in youth sports beginning at Tuckahoe Little League then as a standout baseball and football player at Mills E. Godwin High School in Richmond. He grew into a passionate coach, fan, carpool driver, and board member for McIntire and Central Little Leagues in Charlottesville.
Brian graduated from Virginia Tech School of Architecture in 2001 and worked as a residential architect for the next 25 years. When not obsessing over architectural joint reveals or spending time with his family, Brian enjoyed playing golf and cheering for Virginia Tech football, the Orioles, and the Ravens. He most enjoyed supporting his teams when his family and friends joined him.
Brian is survived by his wife of 20 years, Anne Graves Tuskey; son, Brandon Tuskey; daughter, Mollie Tuskey; parents, Terrence and Linda Tuskey; siblings, Jennifer Warren (Matt) and Kevin Tuskey (Lori); and beloved dog, Betty.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Charlottesville, Va. on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 2 p.m.
In keeping with Brian's dedication to youth sports, memorial donations can be made to the C-will Fund to support Charlottesville city school athletics
