I'm not sure you will remember me, but I remember you and Chance. I was the lab tech at Dr. William R. Jordan's office and we all loved Chance. Please accept my sincere sympathy in your great loss. He was a good and kind person, always polite and concerned.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved husband and father. I have just learned of Chance’s passing upon my return from Florida assisting my aging parents. I worked with Chance during my years at Kings Dominion in the early ‘80’s. He was always helpful and willing to go the extra mile in all endeavors. His smile and kind demeanor will be missed at the Park. Please know he will continue to live on in our memories. With all my sympathy,

EVERY TIME I SEE A LIGHTHOUSE I THINK OF YOU AND THE TIMES WE HAD TOGETHER IN OUR CLOSET - NO THINGS' HAVE NOT CHANGED- AND REFLECT ON THAT TRAIN RIDE WE TOOK AH! THOSE WERE THE DAYS . Judy and Family,
Having grown up in the PKD family my entire lifetime, I had the opportunity to get to know Chance not only as a boss, but most importantly as a "second" dad. I will never forget those "minute" conversations or the twinkle in his eye as he would walk through the door of Communications, pull up a chair, and help out however he could, usually with a story or two, maybe even three if we were lucky!
He meant the world not only to Mom but to our entire family.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

I just heard the news yesterday. I can't start to describe all the help Chance extended to me during my many years at PKD. His home-spun patience and kindness were life lessons that are becoming more and more rare in an increasingly fast-paced and impersonal corporate culture. Mr. Hester, Judy, Tanya, and Family: My heart pours out to you during this most difficult time. Your family and ours here at PKD have lost a magnificant man. My best memories of Chance are of being out in the park and walking up to him seeing that great big smile! Chance treated me like I was part of his family and made my days brighter. I could expect not only a smile from him, but many times a great big hug. We all will miss him dearly. Chance was a great man who had a beautiful spirit and wonderful soul. Judy & Tanya, I am so sorry for your loss, though it is really a loss to everyone who knew Chance. Chance was such a constant for those of us who worked at Kings Dominion for any length of time. Kings Dominion will not be the same without his wonderful compassion and knowledge.

Judy and family. I just heard of your loss and I wanted to express my sincere sympathy to you and your family. I had the opportunity to become a part of the Paramount family for a few years, and Chance was always eager to help me in any way possible. I always greatly enjoyed my interaction with Chance and I know he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He touched thousands of lives in his years working at the parks and his passing will leave a real hole in the heart of that business.

Judy, I just heard the sad news about Chance. I met Chance many years ago while I was the Fire & Safety Manager at Kings Island. We always had such great times at our counterpart meetings. He had that great dry sense of humor that always made the meetings interesting. He always kidded me that even though our fire trucks looked alike, his fire truck was bigger than mine.
Even though I had been doing this safety stuff longer than him, he taught me a lot of neat stuff, and for that I will always be grateful.
We had some good times and I will always have some lasting memories.

Doris and I are praying and thinking of you and your family and was glad that we could be there at his service and what a service that was,so many people and I was happy to see all the Police,Fire and emergency personel that was in attendance. This was a honor for a fine man,who will bw missed by all.We are sorry for your loss,but few people have the ability to leave their mark on earth as Chance did.Chance will be honored and remembered for a lifetime.I am honored to have known him and worked and to be able to call him a friend for twenty eight years. Judy, Tanya, and the rest of the family,
There are no "magic words" I can share with you that will make this any more bearable. We have lost a truly special man. Having first known Chance personally ("Tanya's Dad") and later professionally, he was always around, making his profound impression on everyone. We are so thankful we were able to spend time together last weekend... what an adventure we had!
He meant so much to so many people. We pray that you can find peace and comfort in your memories of happy times together. Special hugs for Macie and Logan...

Since I was not able to sign your guest book at the funeral home, I just wanted to offer my condolences. Judy, my favorite explanation of our death is; think of our loved one on a ship sailing away and we are waving goodbye; but on the other side of the ocean there are many that are waving "hello". Mr. Hester, Judy, Tanya and family. The ceremonies are over. What I saw today was magnificent - true respect and honor for one extraordinary man! Even though we end the physical process together, we begin that wonderous thing called "memory". That's what will get me through all this! All my heartfelt sympathy to Judy, Tanya, Mr. Hester and family. I saw Chance just about 3 weeks ago and had the opportunity to have a great conversation with him. Mostly we talked about family. He especially doted on his grandchildren. I admire many things about Chance: his work ethic, his kindness, his compassion and his loyalty. Tim and I want to extend to you our deepest sympathies. We loved Chance so much. He was such a positive influence in our lives. We could always count on him to listen and to give us sound advice. I am grateful for having known Chance. In the many years that I worked at Guest Services at Kings Dominion, he treated me with tremendous kindness--just as he did with everyone whom he encountered. Vivid in my mind is the image of Chance helping us out in our office on busy concert days at the park. He didn't have to help us, but he chose to do so because he knew that we needed the assistance. I extend my deepest sympathies to his friends and loved ones in this difficult time.

I represented King’s Dominions Insurance Company and truly enjoyed my bi-annual and special visits to the Park. Chance always made me feel like family.
