Charlotte Daniel Obituary

Charlotte Elizabeth Daniel

November 14, 1953 - October 6, 2024

Charlotte Elizabeth Daniel (Beth), 70, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and Nana of Chesterfield, VA died on October, 6, 2024. While we on earth mourn her death, we rejoice in her reunion with her Savior and her love, Stuart, who died just 18 months before. She was born on November 14, 1953 in Mineola, TX to a high school principal and a drama teacher. No stranger to moving, Beth spent her childhood in small town Texas with her beloved sisters, Peggy and Robin. Beth graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1972 where she was active in theater, played on both the volleyball and girls' basketball teams, and was a member of the Dragonette Drill Team. After high school graduation she began her college career at Southwest Texas State as a Strutter; dancing for the team her first year. She met Art Walker, and moved to Hawaii where she finished her college degree in education and welcomed her first son, Skip, with Art. It was after she moved to Maryland and began working for Suburban Bank where she met the love of her life, husband of 35 years, Stuart. They welcomed Beth's second son, Matt, and eventually settled in Richmond, VA. Beth continued her work at Bank of America until she retired in 2015. Beth's 34 year career at the bank was remarkable. Once a one-woman training department at Suburban Bank, she built a national training organization that stretched from Seattle to Fort Lauderdale. Through merger after merger she kept her growing team focused on quality. Her energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to life-long learning were an inspiration to all who worked with her and for her. Stuart and Beth were long-term members of Redeemer Episcopal Church in Midlothian, VA. She served on the vestry, taught Sunday school, started outreach programs, and sang in the choir. Her enduring passion was the Altar Guild. Starting in 1990 she found her second calling, Jazzercise! It combined her love of both dance and teaching. She held her own class three days a week for the next 25 years. Beth was an avid gardener and had the most beautiful pots in every season. Her love for holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween, will live on in her grandchildren, as she made the holidays larger than life for them. Her absence is felt deeply by many friends and loved ones, especially those surviving her in death, her sons, Arthur Walker IV (Sarah) and Matthew Daniel (Lily); her mother, Patsy Grubbs; her sister, Margaret Barnette (Mike); and her grandchildren, Weston, Reese, Polly, Miles and Louis; and her sweet dog, Susie. She was joyously greeted in heaven by her husband, Stuart E. Daniel; her father, William S. Grubbs; and her sister, Robin J. Morris.

Funeral service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer at 2341 Winterfield Road, Midlothian, VA, 23113 on November 16, 2024 at 2 p.m. with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to breast cancer research at the VA Breast Cancer Foundation.

Beth and Stuart were neighbors of ours in Summerford. Two of the nicest people I've ever known. Beth would do anything for anyone. We will miss her but she will once again be with her Stuart. My sympathy to her family.

I knew Beth in high school and loved her infectious enthusiasm. Many years later I was happy to reconnect with her on Facebook. I know she will be missed.

I met Beth through Jazzercise, as did many friends. We were both instructors, but we were closer than just that. We were both born on November 14 and I was so honored to share with and enjoy our birthdays together.

Beth was just amazing and our world is much better for having known her. Beth, I´m happy you have been reunited with Stuart. May you both rest in peace in God´s loving arms. I love you, birthday girl.
