Danny Wingo Obituary
September 23, 1948 - June 21, 2024
Danny "Hoot" Wingo, age 75, went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patrice; son, Coleman (Eva); daughter, Michelle (Lamont); grandchildren, Noah, Selah, Mason, Melody, Jason and Caleb; and his sister, Patsy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Early "Bootsie" and Hallie Victoria "Vicki"; and granddaughter, Layla. Danny spent a wonderful childhood and young adulthood on a family farm, where many Wingo pets lived a happy life. He attended John Tyler Community College before joining the Coast Guard. He returned home to start his career at DuPont as a pipe insulator, retiring after 43 years. Danny and Patrice traveled the world together and enjoyed many family travels with their children Cole and Michelle all over the USA. Danny enjoyed horse racing and traveling to various tracks and races, and motorcycle riding in his younger days. He enjoyed other hobbies such as coaching baseball and basketball, participating in Brunswick Stew fundraisers, and solving the occasional Sudoku puzzle.
Family will receive visitors at Morrisett Funeral Home at 6500 Ironbridge Rd. on Wednesday July 17th, 5 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will follow on Thursday July 18th at 1:30 p.m. at Morrisett's followed by a graveside service at Maury Cemetery. Reception to follow at Beulah Recreation Center at 5 p.m.

Just saw this on the internet. I saw Danny a couple of years back at a high school fraternity reunion. Kappa Omega Delta. Great seeing and talking with him after many years. Danny was a good boy and always enjoyed being around him. The world is a little dimmer now without Danny in it. Rest on peace brother.
