David Nickens Obituary

David J. Nickens of Richmond, entered eternal life on July 2, 2003. Surviving are his son, Darrel of Merry Point, Va.; daughters, Neche' of Richmond, Va., and Carla of Washington, D.C.; sisters, Susie Nickens-James (Alex Bledsoe) and Ruth Nickens-Sayles, both of Richmond, Va., and Rosalie Nickens-Moore of Alexandria, Va.; brothers, James Andrews Nickens (Juanita) of Atlanta, Ga., Herbert Augustus Nickens (Adeline) of Washington, D.C., and Rev. John E. Nickens (Sharon) of Eastern Shore, Va.; foster sister, Rev. Carolyn Clark of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Cherhonda, Tiana, Shannon, Brandon, Ky'asia, Gayle, Carol, Dar'lkata, Darrell Jr. and Junasia; a devoted niece, Rosalyn Moore of Richmond, Va.; devoted great-niece and goddaughter, Leah Naomi Nickens; devoted nephew, John E. Nickens II; other nephews and nieces; devoted cousins, Rosalie Adams and Frances Andrews; a host of cousins; very special friends, among them, Theresa Hunt. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Boulevard, where the family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. After 12 noon Tuesday, remains will rest in Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 6749 Jessie Dupont Memorial Hwy., Heathsville, Va., where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Rev. Dwight Seawood officiating, Rev. Benjamin W. Robertson Sr. eulogizing.
