Dee Elliott Moon

Dee Elliott Moon, 67, of Midlothian, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 4, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmus Moon of Spotsylvania, Va., and Emma Moon of Atlanta, Ga. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 47 years, Roberta (Bobbie) Moon; son, Brian and wife, Jamie; daughter, Jill Garloff and husband, Eric; sister, Sharon Lundquist and husband, Ken; widow of his father, Frances (Libba) Moon; grandchildren, Bailey and Hunter Moon, and Evan and Emily Garloff; and many other loving family members. Dee attended Georgia Tech, University of Tennessee Chattanooga, and George Washington University. In the 1960s, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the erecting of the Berlin Wall. He retired from Hoechst Marion Rousel after 30 years of service. The family will receive friends Monday, August 8, at River Road United Methodist Church, 7 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral will take place at the same location on Tuesday, August 9, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River Road UMC, 8800 River Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229; Hospice Foundation, 5875 Bremo Rd., Suite 710, Richmond, Va. 23226; or your local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
