Frances Hilliard Pritchard

November 14, 1929 - March 13, 2025

Frances Hilliard Pritchard, 95, born November 14, 1929, died March 13, 2025. She was an LPN Nurse(Medical College of Virginia School of Nursing( and was employed at Grace Hospital. She ended her career as Senior Administrative Assistant for Doctor's Group at Blue Cross Blue Shield. Early years resided in West End Richmond and retired in Gloucester, Va.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda Bearekman (Stephen) and granddaughters Kristina Sample (Steven) and Carolynn Wade (Gregory) and grandsons Brian Beraekman (Martina), Matthew Bearekman and David Harris (Blair). She is also survived by eight great grandchildren Erin Ashley Sample, Katie Brenda Sample, Abigail Lucia Harris, Klara Faith Globig, Margaret Hulda Wade, Jackson Porter Wade, Josephine Harris Wade, and Caden Hilliard Bearekman. Also survived by many dear family members - nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Richard Pritchard, daughter Debra Lynn Pritchard Harris (Michael), great granddaughter Jamie Lynn Sample, father William Lynwood Hilliard, mother Gladys Louise Hilliard, brothers - Norman Hilliard (Lola), and Marvin Earle Hilliard (Audrey), and nephew Curtis Hilliard.

She was an accomplished pianist and was President of the orchestra at John Marshall High School. She even had to play at her own graduation Exercise. She was often called upon to play music on Sundays at start-up churches. She enjoyed painting. She painted individual portraits of all her grandchildren. She loved spending time at her river home and developed lifetime friendships with many of her neighbors.

Growing up she was a longtime member of Christ Ascension Episcopal Church and St. Matthew Episcopal Church in the Richmond Area. After she retired to her river home, she became a member of Reedswood Christian Church. The fellowship she experienced with her brothers and sisters in Christ at her church and her neighbors on the river was life changing for her. It was a blessing from God. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Reedswood Christian Church, 7694 Meredith Drive, Gloucester, Va. 23061 with a reception to follow. In Lieu of flowers please make contributions to Reedswood Christian Church, 7694 Meredith Drive, Gloucester, Va. 23061. Entombment will be on Saturday, March 22, 2025, 12 noon at Westhampton Memorial & Cremation Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23228 Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, Va. is in charge of arrangements.

I knew Frances when I worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was a very nice lady. I am so sorry for your family's loss.
