Gerald Hester Obituary
Jerry is survived by his wife of over 40 years Mary Ann Hester; sons Wesley and Matthew Hester; stepdaughters Nicole (Nikki) Woody and Leah-Nicole Little; and grandchildren Grayson, Wells and Florence Hester; Clay, Jack, Josh and Amanda Woody; and Marlie and Isabella Little. He was predeceased by his brother George Patterson Hester.
Born in Richmond, VA, Jerry attended Episcopal High School and the University of Virginia before a successful career in heavy civil construction that took him and his family to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Gloucester, VA, and eventually Florida. A fiercely independent man of character and perseverance, Jerry was driven throughout his life by his powerful work ethic and a deep love for his family. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren and dogs. He will be deeply missed.
A private graveside service will be held in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

We were classmates at EHS and roommates at UVA, as well as fraternity brothers. As old a relationship as I have. My regret is that we lost contact over time. God be with you all.
