Harris Kennerly Swann

Harris Kennerly Swann, 74, of Western Hanover County, passed away, Thursday, April 15, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce F. Swann; two daughters, Ann Preston Vogl Savignac and her husband, Mark; and Wendy Llew Swann Alexander and her husband, Ron; a sister, Lou Swann Woodhouse; a brother, Bill Swann; also three grandsons, Alexander Harris and Brian Joseph Vogl and Macon Harris Alexander. Mr. Swann was a 1950 graduate of Virginia Tech. He was an active member of Forest Grove U.M.C., for over twenty years. He was a former chairman on the Hanover Planning Commission and served on the board of Business Opportunities for the Blind, Inc. Mr. Swann retired as Group Vice President from Southern States Cooperative after 31 years of service. Friends may call in the Reid Funeral Home, 214 S. Washington Hwy, Ashland, on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. on Sunday in Forest Grove United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
