EAGLES, Irene Crouch Woodcock, passed away in Amelia, Virginia on September 19, 2023. She was born Frances Irene Crouch on April 14, 1925, in Richmond, Virginia, the first child of William Ira and Nora Frances McCree Crouch. She was preceded in death by her sister Grace Crouch King, brother Ira Crouch, husbands Milton Luther Woodcock & Hubert Colbert Eagles, son Robert Milton Woodcock, and best friend Elsie Woodcock Chandler.

Irene is survived by her children, Joan Frances Woodcock Volante and Glenn Volante, Donald Kenneth and Lynn Woodcock, Alan Dennis and Tammy Woodcock, and Susan Lynn Woodcock and Rodger Walker, brother Roy Crouch, and sister Joyce Moran. Grandchildren, Sarah Gleason and Jorge Santamaria, Emily Moore and Marc Riley, Cassandra and Kendall Humphries, Kateland and Peter Henson, and great-grandchildren Cooper Moore, Charlotte Humphries, and Jacob Humphries.

Irene was a lifelong resident of Chesterfield County, Virginia, and a member of Hopewell Methodist Church. She was devoted to her family and friends and will be remembered for her quiet confidence, beautiful smile, and gracious personality.

Irene was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and sewing custom home furnishings. She was a great cook and found joy in sharing food with friends and family. A meal at Irene's table was always special. Irene had a keen mind and loved learning new things, working on daily crossword puzzles, and playing cards. She was a beautiful person inside and out and will be greatly missed.

The family would like to express gratitude to the Clifton House in Amelia, Virginia for their help and care during the past 14 months.

A celebration of life service will be held at Hopewell Methodist Church, Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11 a.m., 6200 Courthouse Road, Chesterfield, Virginia. Memorial donations can be made to the Hopewell Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
