James Shackelford Obituary

James W. Shackelford, age 87, of Urbanna, a retired Southside Marine employee, died Sunday, March 12, 2006. He was a WWII Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Ruby H. Shackelford; a daughter, Linda S. Ferguson of Urbanna; a son, James C. Shackelford and his wife, Ginger of Glen Allen; four grandchildren, Valerie F. Reeves, Sarah Ferguson, James C. Shackelford Jr. and William E. Shackelford; one stepgranddaughter, Stephanie Aschman; two sisters, Louise Harrow of Deltaville and Blanche Britton of Gloucester; and a brother, Rudolph Shackelford of Urbanna. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home, Saluda. Interment Christ Church Cemetery, Christchurch. The family will receive friends Tuesday (tonight) from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Central Middlesex Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 790, Urbanna, Va., 23175.
