Joan, Jaime, and Johnny - Our prayers go out to you for the loss of John. He was a good man and friend. Although it has been too long since we were last together, some of our fondest memories from Wilkes Barre are the gatherings at New Years in Mountaintop and John's personal "hunting with style and comfort" in NE PA. I think that I can still smell the cocktail hot dogs warming over his mini sterno. For that matter I think the deer did also. These fond memories and the many more he has created will keep him in your hearts for years to come. We will miss him. Please take care.

I briefly took care of Mr.Schankweiler during his stay at MCV on North 6. He was a very plesant man and very sweet and caring, as is his wife, who i know is going to miss him dearly. But God has taken him off to live another part of a life. He will always be an angel watching down on those that loved him the most. My heart goes out to family and friends of the Schankweilers. My prayers are with you

John was a dear personal friend of mine for many years. We enjoyed each others company at American Welding Society functions by supporting each others beliefs in the running of our local section and in various educational endeavors. We also shared several hours of personal enjoyment shooting at Johns favorite gun club in Southern Jersey. I was fortunate enough to talk to John on the telephone 2-3 weeks ago, and I will cherish those last words we had. He has a loving family that I wish the best to during the tough times ahead. We will all miss him very much.

Joan, Jamie, and Johnny, with Sympathy in the loss of a husband and a father. Over the years we found John brought his own unique style to life, he had a big heart, and he would do anything for you. No one will take his place. No pictures or memories will fill the empty space that seems to exist. But, I think you will find that he has left things behind, his courage, his strength, and his love.

God bless!!!
