Lowell Reese Obituary

Lowell Dawson Reese, Jr

Lowell Dawson Reese Jr., 75, of Charles City, VA, passed away peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his children and loved ones on August 17, 2024. Dawson was the son of the late Annie Robina Robertson and Lowell Dawson Reese Sr. He is survived by his sister and best friend, Janet Reese Evans (James-(Pan) passed); his former wife and the mother of his children, Mary Sue Reese. Daughters, Cathy Brooks (Kenny), Susan Antonellini, Lori Heath (Alex); and his son, Steven Reese (Kimberly); nine grandchildren, Andrew, Hailey, Danika, Kaleb, Brookley, Ian, Dayton, Zayden and Spencer. Dawson also leaves his loving girlfriend of six years, Patricia O'Brien; and his dear uncle, Leroy Robertson (Anne). He was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Donna Reese. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Michael Wiggington. Stepdaughters, Tina Sharkey (Michael), Morrie Horning, Melonie Borman (John); and stepson, Philip Meade Jr. Lastly, left are a host of very special step grandkids; and great-step grandkids; nieces; nephews; and friends. Dawson served his country as a proud United States Marine and that endurance continued through his life until the end. He retired from Verizon after 34 years of service. He loved the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed watching, NCIS and Wicked Tuna. But most of all he loved to laugh and to smile, and he will be missed beyond measure.

His remains rest at Bliley's-Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave, where family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the funeral ceremony to begin at 1 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2024. Interment will follow at Westhampton Memorial & Cremation on Patterson Ave. The family would like to thank Hospice of Virginia, especially Tricia for her gentle and kind care.

Daddy, you´ve been gone over a week and it still doesn´t seem real. I know you are free of pain but selfishly I want you here with us. Rest in peace dad. I hope we´ve made you proud. Semper Fi. 10-4 1-26
