Marjorie Adams Obituary

ADAMS, Marjorie McDonald "Margie", 96, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023. She was born in Hopewell, Va., on July 17, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Randolph Adams "Randy"; and her son, Norman Daniel Adams "Danny". Margie is survived by her children, Becky Thomas and Mark Adams; her daughter-in-law, Frances Adams; her grandchildren, Amy Carr, Austin Adams, Claire Adams, Nathan Adams, Micah Thomas, and Rachel Adams. Margie was affectionately known to her grandchildren as "Nano". Margie and Randy made a life in New Kent County, Va., where she focused on raising their children and running a popular local restaurant, while Randy worked as a Deputy Sheriff. After Randy's passing, Margie lived for a time at the retirement community Imperial Plaza, before moving in with Mark and his family. Most recently, she had been receiving care as a resident of the Westport Rehabilitation Center, where she remained active knitting hats and scarves for newborns, underprivileged children and the homeless until her passing. Until her health prevented her attendance, Margie was a proud member of the Berea Baptist Church. A Life Celebration will be held for Margie at Berea Baptist Church, 15475 Ashland Road, Rockville, Va., 23146, on Thursday, February 9, at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Adams was a beautiful person inside and out. Full of love and compassion for everyone. A true soldier for God. May the family forever be blessed with fond memories of Mrs. Adams.

Dear family to Marjorie. I was taken by surprise today when I found out that your Mother had passed away. I first met Marjorie when another friend of mine was her roommate and when Shirley Christmas, passed away I continued to visit with Marjorie. During Covid and up until the time of her passing I didn´t visit her but would talk to her frequently and supply her with yarn for all the beautiful things that she crocheted. I tried to get in touch with her and Westport wouldn´t give me any information. I even asked them if they could get in touch with a family member and have them call me, but this didn´t happen. Marjorie would even call me at times to see how I was doing. I loved the relationship that we had she was a blessing in my life. I just wanted to let you know that I will miss our phone time and my buying yarn for her. I am so sorry for your loss.
