Martha Nolan Obituary

Martha Phelps Nolan, of Allentown, Pa., formerly of Richmond, died recently in Allentown, Pa. She was the widow of Richard Nolan. She served the community for over 20 years as a South Whitehall Township Commissioner in Lehigh County, Pa. and also served as president of the board. She also had served as vice president of the Republican Party in Lehigh County. Born in Richmond, she was a daughter of the late William and Helen Phelps. A graduate of John Marshall High School, she was a member of the J.J. Sorority. She was a member of the Junior League of the Lehigh Valley, Pa., and of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown, Pa. Survivors include daughter, Kimberly Nolan; and sisters, Janice Horner of Petersburg and Helen Jones of Richmond. She was predeceased by a sister, Cynthia Seas in 1992. Graveside service 11 a.m. Saturday at Westhampton Memorial Park, Richmond. There are no calling hours. Arrangements by J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown, Pa. Local arrangements by Bliley Funeral Home, 3801 Augusta, Ave., Richmond. Memorial contributions to First Presbyterian Church, 3231 Tilghman St., Allentown, Pa. 18104.
