Neil Nenna Obituary

NENNA Neil Nenna, 81, was born September 2, 1925 in Bronx, N.Y. He later retired to Virginia, where he passed at his home, October 4, 2006. He was married 54 years to his beloved wife, Blanche Nenna, who shared his life and dreams. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his son, Glen Nenna Clark; his daughter, Joy Rawes; other son, Robert Scott, all living in Chesterfield Co.; and his grandchildren Chelsea, Shannon, Adam, Matthew and Christopher, all living in New Jersey and Virginia. Neil enjoyed buying and selling stamps, making Tiffany lamps, molding and melting lead soldiers and fishing. He retired from the N.Y. City Corrections Police Dept. and served in the Navy in WWII. He landed the soldiers in Normandy Beach and received the Purple Heart. We will all miss his gentle smile and warm heart. His greatest gift was caring and loving for his family and his wife, most of all. Indeed, he was the greatest Dad. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd.

Neil touched my life and is someone I will always remember for his gentle nature, warm smile, and caring ways. I will always remember him as a person who I looked forward to seeing and someone who I always knew would make me laugh. I will miss him. I look forward to meeting him again in Heaven where I'm sure he was welcomed and greeted with love and comfort.

Thank you for your loyal and faithful service to our great nation and for being so young and fighting (not running) for our country in WW11 many years ago.

Although no words can really help
to ease the loss you bear,
just know that you are very close
in every thought and prayer.
May the love of those around you
help you through the days ahead.
We will miss the many visits including the jokes and antics that Mr Nenna brought to our office.

I know your heart is aching but know that he is in a better place and watching over you. He was the best husband and father ever and know that he loved you all dearly. God Bless you and stay strong.
