I knew Butch when he would come to the baseball field at the old Manchester High School in the early 1960's. Butch was very popular and seemed to know many people wherever you would see him. Butch liked cars a lot. I remember he had a very attractive 1962 white Corvair with a four speed that were popular at that time.
I had classes with him at VCU and he would drive a Dodge Dart that had the motorcycle rack on the back. Butch had the first 1967 Dodge Swinger at VCU with the high performance 273 engine that had a racing stripe.
Butch had a lot of energy and a very wonderful life.

We lost a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather & friend. My heart breaks. So many fun & cherished memories. He will continue to live in many hearts. The grandkids may not remember all the joys of having him in their lives, but they will think they remember every moment with the stories that will be told so often & with so much love. Even Ashley´s baby arriving in January and the grandkids yet to be born in the years to come will know their Pop Pop well.

So sorry for the loss of such a wonderful person. Met Richard through HMS and he taught us so much about the system and how it worked. He was a very patient person. He loved telling us what movies he had seen and what was worth seeing. I will be praying for the family.

My deepest condolences to Richard's family. Although I did not know Richard personally, we crossed paths often when he served as a Mass Coordinator for the Church of the Eppiphany. I recall his warm smile and greeting when I entered the sanctuary. May Richard rest in the loving embrace of Jesus, and may he enjoy the heavenly fruits derived from his earthly labor. Rest in Peace.

Along with our dearest sympathies, Our prayers and thoughts are with Betty and the girls. It is always good to see a close and loving family. Unfortunately, that closeness makes the loss more difficult. Hopefully, you can celebrate your wonderful life together.

I will forever think of Mr. Usry as family and coming home, holidays, and Pebble Creek Lane won't feel the same without him. I will forever remember his voice booming across the basketball court at games, his vivacious laugh, his unstoppable humor, his warm and gracious hospitality, his perfectionism and professionalism in the kitchen (which I was always happy to reap the benefits of), and the warm environment he and Mrs. Usry created in their beautiful and loving household where the door always felt open and welcoming. Mr. Usry, you were one of a kind!! We are going to miss you so much! I truly believe your spirit lives on through your children and I feel so lucky you were such an integral part of my childhood. To the Usry family, my thoughts and love go out to you in this time of mourning and loss. I love all of you so much and it breaks my heart not to be there.

We are so saddened by the news of Richard´s passing. We have such great memories of spending time with Richard and Betty as we followed Allie´s and Amanda´s basketball adventures. Richard was always so fun and enjoyable to be with. I know he will be missed by everyone who knew him especially his beautiful family. We would definitely be there for the celebration of his life if we were in the country. We will be there in spirit. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with Betty, Allie and the rest of the Usry family. Rest in Peace Richard.
