Richard Verlander Obituary
March 8, 1927 - March 1, 2025
Richard Corey Verlander passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025. Mr. Verlander was preceded in death by Margaret Peters Verlander, his beloved wife of over 50 years, his parents, Lula and Robert Verlander, and two brothers, Robert and James Verlander. Richard is survived by his three sons, Richard C. Verlander Jr. (Kathy), Gregory A. Verlander (Denise), and Jeffrey T. Verlander. Also grandchildren Justin and Benjamin Verlander, Christopher Verlander, Alyson and Katelyn Verlander, and Alexander Higuchi, and great grandchildren Genevieve Verlander and Logan Verlander.
Richard joined the navy when he was 17 years old and served in WW2. As a young man he was an avid boxing fan and loved a good fight. He was always up for an adventure and once rode his Harley Davidson motorcycle across the country. Despite losing most of his vision as a young adult, he persevered, and with Margaret at his side led a blessed and fruitful life.
Mr. Verlander spent most of his working life in the manufacturing business where he had a successful career as a manager who was beloved by his employees. He had many friends and loved animals. Most of all he was a proud dad as well as grandparent and great grandparent. His life serves as an inspiration to all of us and he will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
