I joined the Racketeers almost 15 years ago and noticed a wonderful tennis player who always had a ready smile and endearing demeanor at Belmont. Rose played up until she broke her hip almost 3 years ago and even while convalescing and with dementia her daughter shared she always talked about her days on court with all the Racketeers. I can say playing on court with her always made me smile and I thought I could imagine her playing in Forest Hills NY when she was 30, Her mechanics were sublime and I would laugh aloud when she lofted a lob over my head at will. She was our past secretary and had been active with Racketeers for many, many years. She embodied a great player and human being. Rest in Peace my sweet Rose.
