I am deeply saddened to hear of Scott's passing. I had the honor to serve with Scott when he was a young officer on board USS Kalamazoo (AOR-6). I want to share with all of you that I was always inspired by his ready wit and calm capabilities as an officer and a mariner. His men admired him and respected him. As the ship's surgeon, I had the opportunity to peer inside the makeup of the officers and crew...Scott was an ally and I know he continued to make the lives of those around him richer. I was proud to have been his friend.

I just heard of Scott's passing I am so sorry remember when you and scott took me to vmi to watch a football game in 1989 or 1990 scott was my div. officer on board the k-zoo, scott was a great person.

Erin,
I just heard of Scott's passing in the VMI Alumni review. I am so sorry. I was one of the rats that took care of him and his roommates his first class year at VMI. He was always good to me, and helped me make it through my rat year with his humor and guidance. I am proud to have known him.

Hi Erin, I just learned yesterday. I'm so sorry. I LOVED working with Scott when he worked here years ago part time. He was a lot of fun. I'll never forget him drinking all those Mountain Dews back then! He had a great heart and everyone who knew him loved him. I will be sure to pray for you and your family.

To All of Scott's Family:
I wanted to let you know that I attended Scott's memorial service yesterday and I was deeply touched by all of his dearest friends' comments and the songs that were sung. I felt like I should come although I didn't know Scott that well and I'm glad I did for I felt like I really had a chance to get to know him better. I was so glad to hear that Scott was a child of God and to know that he is in a better place. I think I just needed to know that he was such a good father, friend, and husband as well as the good supervisor that he was. I know now that I was blessed to have known Scott for even a short time. My heart and prayers go out to all of you. I'm sad to say I was not able to stay and view the slides as I'm sure I really missed a golden opportunity to get to know Scott and his beloved family. I can't believe Scott is gone. I have not seen him for so many years, but can still remember the wonderful fun we had at track meets, listening to music at his house, and at the beach with Chuck. I was lucky enough to instant message with Scott just a few months back. When I first found out of Scott's death it seemed like a giant hole in my chest opened up. I am very sorry for you loss and will pray for Scott. He was a good man. I was happy to call him 'friend.'

Knowing Scott was one of my high points at PM. He was always there to lighten the load or get me straight. He will be missed as a co-worker
More importantly, as a family friend, he was there to celebrate our successes and comfort us in defeat (except when he came down to see his Gamecocks, beat the Tar Heels).

hello erin and family ,
I dont know if you remember me but I went to Midlothian high school and
Robious jr. high with Scott. i was Aunt Bee and He was Opey. He was also a great (if not the greatest ) asset to the Cross country and trackteam.
I looked up last night and saw the real Opey Ron Howard on Bill mahr last night and it made me think of the day 20 + years ago. Scott was a card even back then. I wish for you and your family peace during this most difficult time. Know that whenever someone is as good a individual as Scott was He leaves a lasting impression on all that he meets.We know that you loved him much but God Loved Him more. We, the Philip Morris family, are lucky to have known Scott. His strong business sense and desire to do the right thing for the company will always stick out in my mind. What I will remember most is his love of life. He didn't let the minuscule things get him down and he would go with the flow as if it wasn't a big deal.

Scott was a great and unique individual. It was a pleasure both working and laughing with him.
