Steven Jacobson Obituary
July 4, 1938 - August 16, 2024
Steven, 86, died Friday August 16, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Meyer and Lillian Jacobson; and his wife, Kay Eisen Jacobson. He is survived by his daughter, Sherill and her husband, Michael; son, Michael Jacobson and his wife, Jennifer; sister, Cookie Brady; grandchildren, Michael, Morgan, Jennifer, Jesse, Stephenie, Ian, and Kathryn; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Kristina, Leesa; and many cousins; nieces; nephews; and friends. As a youth, Steven was president of the Gomley Chesed Synagogue's Junior Congregation and member of the Churchland High School Basketball team. He studied geology at the University of Virginia before taking over the Jacobson family printing business in Portsmouth, VA. In 1972, Steven moved the family to Richmond to pursue a career in the home improvement business. Steve was an honorary member of the Sturman family and was known for keeping friends and family in touch through his social media presence.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Richmond Beth-El Cemetery, in Forest Lawn. A livestream of the funeral can be found at www.blileys.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of choice.

I knew Steve from the 3d grade in Cradock. Later I recall corned beef and pastami from the country club his father managed. After he moved to Richmond we met only occasionally at class reunions but I was always glad to catch up with him

I am so saddened to hear about my cousin Steve's passing... growing up in Richmond, I spent my afternoons after school at Kay and Steve's home and later on in life, at many dinners at my grandmother's lil's house with Steve almost always in attendance - Wonderful person - sending lots of love and positive healing energy to Steve's family - I love you all! cousin, Melissa
