Victor Howard Galt

Victor Galt Obituary

Victor Howard Galt, 69, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2006, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born on June 26, 1936 in Seattle, Washington, and was a first generation Russian immigrant who played violin in the Seattle Youth Orchestra. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1958 with a degree in Far East Studies and spent the next 35 years in service for his country, first in the U.S. Army Reserve followed by a distinguished career with the Central Intelligence Agency. His work took him and his family to Thailand, Korea and throughout the United States. He was a devoted husband and father, a loving grandfather, a patriot, an adventurer, teacher, and role model and will always be admired, and respected. Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Dallas Galt, and his brother, Phillip A. Galt. He is survived by his wife, Erma Lou Galt of Richmond, Virginia; his sons, Marcus Carlton Galt of Richmond, Virginia, Stephen Alexander Galt of Port Orchard, Washington, and Nicholas William Galt of Southlake, Texas; and seven grandchildren. Local family includes Marc's wife, Shelly Blackstone Galt, and daughters Sarah and Shannon.
