Virginia Habansky Obituary

Virginia Ann Habansky

Virginia Ann Loving, 83, of Mechanicsville, Va., went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 1, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Kent Sahnow, Sr., and William Stephen Habansky, Sr.; parents, Roland and Odelle Loving; siblings, Roland Loving (Patty), Audrey Davis (Wade), and James "Blue" Loving; and brother-in-law, Jim Lewis. Virginia is survived by her children, Teresa Davis (Bill), Tina Miller (David), and William Sahnow, Jr. (Paula); six grandchildren, Jeremy Davis, Jarrett Davis (Kathryn), Heather Miller Cumby (Chris), Brandon Miller, Beau Sahnow, and Von Sahnow; five great grandchildren; sister, Mary Linda Lewis; sister-in-law, Pamela Loving Greber; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Virginia was a graduate of Tappahannock High School, where she was Assistant Editor of the Yearbook Staff, Head Cheerleader, and remained active with its alumni. She was also a graduate of Smithdeal Massey Business College. Virginia served with the Virginia House of Delegates for decades, retiring as Executive Assistant to the Clerk of the House, and was an active member of the Hanover Republican Women's Club. She enjoyed being outdoors doing yard work, the beach, and shopping. Virginia also loved supporting and helping people, and adored spending time with her children and grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Heritage Green Assisted Living Facility for the excellent care they provided.

A celebration of Virginia's life will be held 1 pm Friday, February 13, 2026 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. A period of visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Signal Hill Memorial Park. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Cox Rd., Glen Allen, VA 23060, or online at alz.org
