Warren Manning Obituary

Warren Manning, 83, of Schwenksville passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown. He was the beloved husband of Edith (Wilkie) Manning to whom he was married for over 50 years. Born August 9, 1928 in Norristown he was the son of the late Alfred J. and Carol C. (Fielitz) Manning. Mr. Manning was a long-time member of Wentz's U.C.C. Church in Worcester. He served in the U.S. Maries during the Korean War. Mr. Manning was an Owner of A.E. and W.R Manning Inc. In addition, he was part owner of Rolling Turf Golf Course and snowmobile business. He was a member of the Pottstown region of the A.A.C.A. where he was a former Board Member, the Delaware Valley A.A.C.A the International Thunderbird Club and the Lehigh Valley Thunderbird Club where he also was a former Board Member. Mr. Manning enjoyed spending time working on and collecting antique cars and he loved spending time at his mountain house in Bradford County. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Marlene Geist and her husband James, Jr. of Schwenksville, Thomas Manning and his wife Emily L. of Perkiomenville, Roger Manning and his wife Deborah of Perkiomenville, and Timothy Manning and his wife Connie of Quakertown; his brother Alfred E. Manning and his wife Marion, his sister in law Prudence Manning; his brother in law Harry Metzger; eleven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Manning was predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth (Whitman) Manning; his daughter Lisa Karwoski; and his siblings Donald Manning and Vivian Metzger. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the R.L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. Skippack Pike at Cedars Rd., Skippack where friends may call for the viewing from 9:30-11 AM. Interment will follow at Wentz's U. C.C. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles, 85 S. Walnut St. Boyertown, PA 19512.
