Adam Nicholas Shaw, 26, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born in Kingston, a son of Denise (Cipriani) Shaw, of Pringle, and Aaron Shaw, of Harveys Lake. Adam attended Lake Lehman High School and later transferred to Wyoming Valley West High School, where he was a graduate of the Class of 2017. He was employed as an equipment operator by Robert Faber Excavating & Landscaping, Wyoming.
Adam was a dedicated member of the Lake Lehman wrestling team, where he showed the same determination, strength and spirit that he carried into every part of his life. Adam was known for his big heart, smile and his unwavering devotion to family and friends. He brought light and laughter to every room he entered, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Though his time was brief, Adam's life was filled with love, connection and memories that will live on forever. His spirit will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to know home.
Adam was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was also a member of the Pour House Dart League in Ashley.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Carol Cipriani, and paternal grandparents, Timothy and Jean Shaw.
Adam is survived by his mother, Denise (Cipriani) Shaw, Pringle; father, Aaron Shaw, and fiancé, Valerie Zelinsky, Harveys Lake; sister, Taylor Shaw, Shavertown; niece, Mia Shaw; girlfriend, Chase Montgomery; aunts and uncles, Lisa (Cipriani) Mozeleski, Michael Cipriani, Jodie Burkholder, Timmy, Chris and Ty Shaw; and by numerous cousins and dear friends.
A celebration of Adam's life will begin with a visitation for family and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. A visitation will also be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, in St. Leo the Great Church, 33 Manhattan St., Ashley, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church on Friday.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
