WILKES-BARRE — Theresa "Tesi" Klepadlo, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, at the home of her sister, Rita, in Hanover Township, where she resided the past two years.
Born Aug. 19, 1929, in Wilkes-Barre Township, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Pikul Gluchowski. Tesi was a 1947 graduate of Marymount High School, Wilkes-Barre. She was employed over the years at Ostrowski Wholesale Meats, Nabisco, Purvin Dairy, Dana Perfume, and most recently as a home health aide. Theresa was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre and the Women's Polish Union.
She was the matriarch of her family and was happiest to have them gathered to spend time together. She always said, "She was the oldest, smartest, prettiest and most humble of her siblings."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley "Stoogie" Klepadlo, on Dec. 13, 1984; brothers, Anthony Gluchowski Jr., and Joseph Gluchowski; and niece, Cathy Ostrowski.
Surviving are her sisters: Rosalie Havira, of Wilkes-Barre; Mary Wengyn, of Reading; Rita Reilly, of Hanover Township; and Catherine Ostrowski, of Hanover Township; sister-in-law, Mary Gluchowski, of Wilkes-Barre; and 17 nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, 143 Division St., Wilkes-Barre. Mass will be celebrated by the Reverend Richard J. Cirba, V.F., pastor, and Theresa's great-nephew, deacon Andrew McCarroll. Family and friends may call Friday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, 143 Division St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
Arrangements are entrusted to Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.
