Florence Weppler Obituary

Florence E. Weppler, age 81, of Tippecanoe, O., passed away on Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at Twin City Hospital in Dennison, O., following a sudden illness.
Born on March 29, 1928, at Canton, O., Florence was the daughter of the late Edgar E. and Sarah A. (Barnhart) Earl.
In 1946, Florence graduated from North Canton High School. On Nov. 30, 1952, in Canton, O., Florence married her husband, Herbert Francis Weppler. She was a member of the Uhrichsville Church of the Nazarene in Uhrichsville, O. Florence was employed at the Gap in Uhrichsville, and many knew her from her previous jobs at Dairy Mart, Nichols and Conley's.
Florence enjoyed life to the fullest and loved doing things with her friends. She also enjoyed playing cards with her lifelong friend Lucille, her family, and keeping in touch with her pen pal of over 60 years, Violet Ware of New Zealand, planting flowers, wearing her bibs, and running around barefoot. Florence liked mowing her huge lawn with a riding lawn mower, spending time and going on trips at the Senior Center at West Chester and Dover, doing crafts and winning at grocery Bingo.
She had many hobbies through the years like bowling, square dancing, roller skating, going to yard sales, auctions and collecting smiley faces.
Most of all, Florence loved living on the farm and only regretted that her husband and our dad was not there to grow old with her. She will be sorely missed by family and friends alike.
Florence is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Marla Weppler of Tippecanoe, O.; her daughter, Mary Weppler of Dover, O.; her granddaughters Keela Bastien and Nicole Hamma; her grandson, Jonathan Weppler; one sister, Thelma Uber of North Canton, O.; brothers-in-law, Charles Weppler of Dover, O., Ron Weppler of Arizona and Bob Tarr of Canton, O.; her best friend, Lucille Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Herbert Francis Weppler, who passed away Jan. 10, 1979; two sons, Michael Earl and Dale Eugene Weppler; two sisters, Letha Tarr and Edna Kartler; one brother-in-law, Hal Uber; a niece, Penny Tarr, and a nephew, Steve Tarr, preceded Florence in death.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home Inc. at Uhrichsville, O.
Memorial services will be held 1 p.m., on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at the Uhrichsville Church of the Nazarene in Uhrichsville, O., with the Rev. Michael Travis officiating.
